HEALTH
- Governor Pritzker’s Thursday press conference marked one month since issuance of a disaster proclamation in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak. In the past month, the state has been working on building a healthcare facility, obtaining essential supplies, bringing back retired healthcare workers, ramping up testing efforts, and many other initiatives to combat the virus. Although the Governor stressed the importance of continuing to monitor the data, he also noted that the rate-of-rise in new cases has started to decrease, indicating that the state could be seeing signs of bending the curve. It is still unlikely the Governor will lift the stay-at-home order before April 30.
TRUCKING/SAFETY
- The Illinois Department of Transportation (“IDOT”) has authorized that overweight and over-dimension loads not exceeding 14 feet in width and 100 feet in length may be transported on the roads within the State of Illinois to assist with emergency response and relief as defined in the Presidential Declaration of Emergency for the nation. However, IDOT also noted certain restrictions will apply.
