Gyparakis Receives Rising Star Award from State Defense Counsel Association

Eleni Gyparakis has received the Illinois Defense Counsel’s (IDC) 2026 Rising Star Award. In recognizing her, IDC President, R. Mark Cosimini, said, “IDC offers an incredible number of opportunities to its members, especially younger members. Eleni has taken advantage of every opportunity available to her. In addition to being involved in committee leadership, she has been involved with seminars as a speaker and moderator, and she was a crucial component of our deposition academy. We expect great things from Eleni, and she is most deserving of the Rising Star Award.”

Gyparakis’ recognition adds to HeplerBroom’s long history of service to IDC, with 4 of the organization’s 17 previous Rising Star Award recipients having been HeplerBroom attorneys.

An associate in the firm’s Chicago office, Gyparakis is a dedicated litigator who defends medical, dental, and other healthcare providers against claims of medical negligence. She is particularly interested in claims involving neuroanatomy and neuralgia. Her clients trust her ability to analyze complex medical issues and distill information for the benefit of jurors. They also value her dedication, work ethic, and positive attitude. In 2024, she was named the Board of Directors Rookie of the Year for the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society. Gyparakis received her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2013. She also holds a B.A. in Criminology and Sociology from Ohio State University. Gyparakis is licensed to practice in Illinois.
