A jury in a recent Madison County (Illinois) Circuit Court trial returned a defense verdict for an employee and his employer represented by HeplerBroom attorneys Bharat Varadachari and Emilee Bramstedt.

The trial involved a collision between a motorcyclist and a utility van driven by the employee. Plaintiff alleged that the employee was negligent by initiating a right turn from the left lane, resulting in a debilitating head injury for the Plaintiff. Varadachari and Bramstedt successfully proved that the majority of the utility van was in the right lane at all times during the turn. Plaintiff had asked for an award of $33 million.
