HeplerBroom Attorney Patrick Bousquet

Overview

Patrick A. Bousquet is an experienced litigator and go-to appellate attorney for clients in must-win cases. His nearly 20 years of experience in complex litigation, insurance coverage, bad faith matters, and appellate work give him an unmatched ability to analyze complex and novel legal issues, litigation risks, reasonableness of settlements, and odds of success on appeal. Utilizing this combination of skills and experience has enabled him to secure client victories in important issues of first impression for his corporate and individual clients.

Bousquet advises some of the nation’s top insurance companies in complex coverage and bad faith matters. These high exposure cases often involve wrongful death claims, serious allegations of sexual assault or misconduct, or construction of novel insurance clauses. He knows the tricks clever plaintiffs’ lawyers use to set up insurance companies for bad faith, and he proactively helps the insurance companies navigate claims and minimize exposure.

He is experienced in trying claims in both federal and state trial courts. He has argued cases in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Eighth, and Tenth Circuits. He has also argued numerous appeals in every appellate court in Missouri, including the Missouri Supreme Court. In Illinois, he has argued cases before multiple divisions of its Courts of Appeals and the Illinois Supreme Court.
