Oldenburg and Janowiak Case Results Article Published in Professional Journal

A recent issue of the Medical Professional Liability Association’s Inside Medical Liability Online included a “Case and Comment” article by Anne Oldenburg and Megan Janowiak. In the article, Oldenburg and Janowiak analyzed their recent victories in two appellate court rulings on the issue of long-term care facilities’ immunity from negligence in COVID-19 litigation. (See this Results item elsewhere on our website.) The authors concluded that overall, these decisions provide much-needed optimism for defendant healthcare facilities.

Oldenburg, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses her practice on the defense of medical and dental malpractice and nursing home matters, as well as representing professionals before licensing boards. She has received numerous honors in her career, including a 2023 Medical Professional Liability Industry Defender Award from the Medical Professional Liability Association. She has been named to numerous lists of top-rated lawyers, including Best Lawyers in America, Illinois Leading Lawyers, Illinois Super Lawyers, and Top 50 Female Lawyers in Illinois. She is rated an AV Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.

Janowiak, an associate in the firm’s Chicago office, concentrates on the defense of medical and dental malpractice, personal injury, and professional liability matters. She is a 2022 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law and also holds a B.A. in English Literature and Philosophy from DePaul University. She was a 2021 HeplerBroom summer associate.
