- James DuChateau’s “Property Insurance Law” column provides insurance coverage practitioners with guidance on avoiding risk from possible negligence by public adjusters.
- In his “Supreme Court Watch” column, John Hanson outlines the arguments that were to be presented to the Court on whether the Illinois Human Rights Act extends to private organizations that use public facilities.
- For the IDC Monograph, Julieta Kosiba and her co-authors explore the history, potential benefits, and potential pitfalls of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the United States and caution employers, institutions, and organizations to keep up with changes and seek legal counsel when pursuing and promoting diversity in the workplace.
Boeckman and DuChateau are partners in the firm’s Chicago office. Boeckman focuses her practice on the defense of medical and dental professionals, as well as healthcare law and premises liability matters. She has been named to Best Lawyers’ list of Ones to Watch and is the former recipient of a Jury Verdict Reporter Trial Lawyer Excellence Award for an outstanding defense verdict in a dental malpractice matter. DuChateau concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts throughout the Midwest and Mountain West. He also represents financial institution clients in both U.C.C. and R.E.O. matters, as well as trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters.
An associate in the firm’s Edwardsville office, Hanson focuses his practice on the defense of litigation involving personal injury, products liability, insurance law, commercial and residential property taxation, governmental matters, and election law. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, he was a Madison County Assistant State’s Attorney, with experience in both civil and criminal matters. Kosiba, an associate attorney working for the firm’s Springfield office, focuses her practice on the defense of civil litigation matters, including employment and labor law. In addition to defending clients in employment-related lawsuits, she assists HB’s employment and labor team in drafting employee handbooks and other employment-related documents and counseling clients on employment issues.
