ECONOMY
- Indianapolis’ Mayor Joe Hogsett and Dr. Virginia Caine from the Marion County Public Health Department announced that the Indianapolis area will move to phase two of reopening on Friday. The county will implement changes such as “removing restrictions on in-person public gatherings, including religious services, from 10 to 25 people,” “allowing for qualified reopening of nonessential retail outlets at 50 percent capacity,” “allowing for liquor stores to reopen at 50 percent capacity,” and “offering curbside pickup at libraries.” Dining inside restaurants will not be available until May 22, and then capacity will be limited to outdoor seating only with strict social distancing guidelines.
HEALTH
- Hamilton County (on the north side of Indianapolis) has a new testing clinic opening today in Westfield Grand Park. The clinic, which will help achieve Governor Holcomb’s goal of administering 100,000 tests a month, will be open each week Monday through Friday from
8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Testing will be free and available for up to 130 appointments a day, but residents with insurance coverage are asked to bring their card. Residents desiring to obtain testing will need to make an appointment and fill out a questionnaire.
