Murphy to Address Chemical Industry Organization on Environmental Enforcement
On January 23, Michael Murphy will speak at the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois’s (CICI) Environmental Enforcement Seminar on ways to avoid environmental enforcement actions if possible and how to defend against such actions if necessary. Other speakers at the seminar will include legal counsel from the U.S. Attorney’s office and officials with both the Illinois and federal Environmental Protection Agency. Murphy, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses his practice on environmental law. He is an experienced litigator who defends clients in state-initiated enforcement actions and citizen lawsuits claiming injuries from environmental contamination. He has been named both an Emerging Lawyer by Illinois Leading Lawyers and an Illinois Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters and was recently elected to CICI’s Board of Directors.
