Alec Messina, LaDonna Driver, and Melissa Brown will be among the featured speakers at a seminar on air permitting in Illinois. Messina will discuss current legislative efforts to draft a new energy omnibus package that’s likely to include new emissions requirements and energy incentives for battery storage, nuclear energy, and energy efficiency. Driver and Brown will be on a panel with Trinity Consultants answering questions on air permitting. Anticipated topics for the panel include challenges that occur with delays in processing air permits and potential solutions to those challenges.

Messina helps craft innovative solutions to clients’ environmental problems. He spearheads the firm’s Government Affairs practice group and works with clients in HeplerBroom’s Environmental Law practice group. Previously, he served as Director of the Illinois EPA and had also been the Governor’s Policy Adviser for Energy and Environment.
Driver concentrates her practice in the area of environmental law involving air emission issues. She works closely with clients and technical consultants to understand facility processes and determine the appropriate application of regulatory and permit requirements to those processes. She has been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media.
Brown has developed a robust environmental law practice. She assists businesses with a wide variety of environmental issues, and her clients regularly rely on her to provide counsel on complying with Illinois and federal environmental statutes and regulations.
