Stephen R. Kaufmann and Michael P. Murphy, attorneys in HeplerBroom’s Springfield, Illinois, office, recently obtained dismissal with prejudice in favor of the City of Pekin, its former chief of police, the Pekin Police and Fire Commission, and its commissioners. The plaintiff alleged civil rights violations under 42 U.S.C. 1983 and 1985. The motion to dismiss filed on behalf of the defendants was granted by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
