Murphy Wins Appeal in U.S. Court of Appeals for Seventh Circuit

Michael P. Murphy of HeplerBroom’s Springfield, Illinois office prevailed in an appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The Seventh Circuit, in a March 19, 2013, opinion, affirmed the decision of the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois entering dismissal with prejudice in favor of the City of Pekin, its former chief of police, the Pekin Police and Fire Commission, and its commissioners. The plaintiff alleged civil rights violations under 42 U.S.C. 1983 and 1985.
