Joe Fay helped those attending the annual Insurance Fraud Conference of the Illinois chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU) understand a public adjuster’s role in SIU claim investigations, and how to view a public adjuster’s involvement in a claim as an investigative tool rather than an investigative roadblock. He also cited several experiences with rogue public adjusters who positioned claims in ways that gave insurers sufficient legal grounds to deny a claim or move for summary judgment during litigation.
Fay, who has been named to the list of Rising Stars by Illinois Super Lawyers, is an associate in the firm’s Chicago office and focuses his practice on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, as well as high exposure personal injury and property damage litigation. Colleagues, judges, and clients speak highly of his preparedness and his ability to maintain the delicate balance between cordiality and zealous advocacy. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and is admitted to the bars of the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
