Overview
Michael J. Chessler defends a diverse range of companies—from small family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies. His goal is to reduce clients’ financial exposure by obtaining dismissals or favorable resolution of claims. Since 2004, he has represented manufacturers, premises owners, suppliers, and contractors in hundreds of cases pending in Madison, St. Clair, Cook, McLean and various other Illinois counties; St. Louis City and Jackson County (Kansas City), Missouri; and Marion County (Indianapolis), Indiana.
By conducting thorough investigations of legal and factual defenses, he’s obtained dismissals and favorable resolutions on behalf of clients in hundreds of cases. He’s also tried a plaintiff’s Civil Rights case before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Before joining Hepler Broom, Mr. Chessler practiced in Washington, D.C., focusing on customs and international trade law for a boutique law firm.
When not practicing law, Mr. Chessler and his wife enjoy traveling as well as volunteering and contributing to multiple local and national charitable organizations.
