Voyles Named Unsung Legal Hero

Nicki Voyles, Office Administrator for HeplerBroom’s St. Louis office, has been chosen for an Unsung Legal Hero Award by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.

Voyles, who started with the firm in 2006, is known for her perpetual good mood. In fact, colleagues note they’ve never seen her in a bad mood. She has no name plate at her desk. Instead, the spot where her name would be is labeled simply “Sunshine.” Voyles’ take on the matter? “I figure there’s no point in being in a bad mood. It’s only going to give you a worse day.”

In addition to her upbeat attitude, Voyles is also credited with being the glue that holds the St. Louis office together. “She keeps the office running smoothly,” noted one partner, “and saves the day on a regular basis.” Other colleagues praised her ability to make new employees feel welcome and veteran employees feel appreciated.

Upon being notified of her award, Voyles responded in her typical humble way, thanking the firm “that feels like family” for supporting her. Ever the entertainer, she also noted: “There are only a few times that something can make me speechless, and this is one of them.”
