Davis Elected President of Judicial Learning Center's Board of Directors
On March 27, 2015, the Board of Directors of the Judicial Learning Center elected Glenn E. Davis as President of the Board. The Judicial Learning Center is a Missouri Non-Profit Corporation dedicated to promoting public understanding and education on the importance of an independent judiciary and the rule of law in American society. The Judicial Learning Center is both a physical space and an interactive focal point for education activities in and through the Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse in St. Louis, Missouri. Developed in consultation with prominent educators, attorneys, museum experts, community leaders and judges, the JLC is the only educational center of its type devoted to the judicial process in the federal courts. It opened its doors on February 25, 2009, and was dedicated by retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. The JLC exhibits focus on the importance of “The Rule of Law” and depict how and why the federal court system was created. The differences between state and federal courts are also outlined. Other JLC highlights include an exhibit on landmark Eighth Circuit cases and interactive displays which allow visitors to serve as jurors and preside as a judge. The Center conducts an annual Teacher Day and annual Law Day activities. In 2014 the JLC the ABA bestowed its Law Day Award for the best Law Day functions in the country. Mr. Davis has served on the Board since its inception. For more information on the JLC and its programming, please visit its website at www.judiciallearningcenter.org.
