HeplerBroom

Government Affairs

We know the importance of a seat at the table, getting involved before the new policy has been developed, the draft regulation has been crafted, or the legislative proposal has been introduced. We play an active role in every step of the legislative process, as decisions are being made. We work with our clients to develop a strategy, putting them in a position to successfully change opinion and policy.

Clients with significant interests to advance and protect require a combination of planning, monitoring, analysis, client communication, and informed and effective advocacy on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters impacting their bottom lines.  We have the experience and drive to get results and protect clients’ interests.

Services our Government Affairs Practice Group provide include:

  • monitoring administrative and legislative action
  • recommending initiatives designed to fulfill each client’s objectives
  • scheduling meetings, building relationships, and facilitating the exchange of information between our clients and key decision-makers
  • providing updated status reports about the progress of relevant legislation, regulation, or policy proposals

If a client’s interests require a more comprehensive representation, HeplerBroom is well situated to handle that. When legislative advocacy alone is not enough, our experienced team of lawyers and support staff draw together complementary legal skills and a deep knowledge of the law to pursue the goals of our clients. This can take the form of administrative rulemaking, permitting or licensing appeals, or complex litigation. Our collaborative approach among HeplerBroom’s practice groups ensures that no options are off the table when it comes to advancing the interests of our clients across Illinois’ state government.
