Marusic Secures Defense Verdict in Jury Trial Involving Sexual Abuse Allegation
In a recent two-week trial, a Webster County, Missouri, jury returned a verdict in favor of Irene Marusic’s client. The plaintiff was a former foster child of Marusic’s client and claimed the client had sexually abused her. Plaintiff asked the jury to award $6 million ($3 million in actual damages and $3 million in punitive damages). Marusic was able to able to secure a verdict for her client despite the client having asserted his 5th Amendment privilege on the witness stand.
