Insler Published in State Bar Association Journal

The Illinois Bar Journal has published an article by Charles Insler in which he explores the background and meaning of Illinois Supreme Court Rule 317. Rule 317 offers litigants a rare chance to appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court as a matter of right. The article traces the history of Rule 317, explains how to invoke it, describes the distinction between criminal and civil cases involving the Rule, and mentions the part that Rule 315 may play in an appeal. The full article is available here.

Insler, a partner in the firm’s St. Louis office, concentrates his practice on appellate work, as well as complex commercial litigation, including the defense of cybersecurity, antitrust, and securities litigation. He is currently a member of the ABA’s Forum on Communications Law and speaks and writes regularly on cybersecurity issues. He is licensed to practice in Missouri, Illinois, and the District of Columbia and is admitted to the bars of the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri, the Southern District of Illinois, and the Districts of Maryland and Columbia.
