HeplerBroom attorney Julieta Kosiba

HeplerBroom attorney Julieta Kosiba is presenting a webinar for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce on ways to improve the hiring process, ensure legal compliance, and minimize the risk of litigation. Topics covered will include:

  • legal distinctions between independent contractors, direct employees, and leased employees
  • legal considerations during the recruiting and interviewing stages
  • background checks and drug testing
  • factors to consider when making an offer and establishing terms of employment

Continuing education credits are available for human resource professionals and attorneys.

More information about the workshop, which will be presented on May 23, is available on the Chamber’s website.

Kosiba, an associate attorney working for the firm’s Springfield office, focuses her practice on the defense of civil litigation matters, including representing employers in employment-related lawsuits. In addition to defending clients in court, she assists HB’s employment and labor team in drafting employee handbooks and other employment-related documents and counseling clients on employment issues.
