Jones and Westbrook to Speak to Independent Insurance Agents about Legalized Marijuana in the Workplace

Lance Jones and Kyle Westbrook will be among the featured speakers at the annual convention of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. Jones and Westbrook will be discussing Illinois employment law updates, including the impacts of the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana, the new Workplace Transparency Act, and significant changes to the Illinois Human Rights Act, the Economic Security and Safety Act, and the Illinois Equal Pay Act. They will also cover the Statute of Repose and Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Disease Acts. The convention is being held October 1-3 in Springfield.

Jones, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses his practice on the defense of litigation involving civil rights and employment and labor. He has been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media and was the 2012 recipient of IDOT’s Award of Merit for Professional Excellence,

Westbrook, an associate in the firm’s St. Louis office, focuses his practice on trials involving complex business litigation matters, including cannabis law, toxic torts, and product liability. He has been named a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters’ Illinois Super Lawyers®.
