3 HB Attorneys Speak at IDC Synergy Forum

Alec Messina, Eric Moch, and Kyle Westbrook were featured speakers at a recent forum sponsored jointly by the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. Messina spoke on Illinois’ evolving environmental regulatory scheme, Moch discussed trends in litigation procedure, and Westbrook focused on the changing laws regarding the emerging medical and recreational cannabis industry.

Messina, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, spearheads the firm’s Government Affairs practice group. He is also a member of HB’s Environmental Law practice group. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, he served as Director of the Illinois EPA and was previously Executive Director of the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group.

Moch, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses his practice on the defense of insurance fraud as well as first- and third-party coverage and bad faith issues. He has been named to the list of Illinois Leading Lawyers and is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators.

Westbrook, an associate in the firm’s St. Louis office, focuses on trials involving complex business litigation matters, particularly regarding asbestos and products liability, as well as providing legal counseling to businesses in the emerging medical and recreational cannabis industry. He has been named to the list of Rising Stars by Illinois Super Lawyers.
